The 22-year-old Christina Grimme was shot outside of her concert in Orlando last Friday night. The assailant also shot himself shortly thereafter.Marcus attended a candlelight vigil in her hometown and told fans that he was overwhelmed by the love and support he and his family have received"She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord and she loved me and she was my baby sister," he told the crowd.
"She's in a better place….Thank you to everyone once again. I wish I could elaborate more, you guys didn't know her like I did, so thank you. This is awesome."
Just hours before the vigil, Marcus took to Facebook to tell everyone that he was "blown away" after learning that Adam Levine "personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight."
The Maroon 5 singer had previously tweeted that he and his wife Behati Prinsloo were "absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie's death. Our hearts go out to her family.
