Two Bankers Charged With N14.4 Million For Stealing Customers Money

The police have accused two ex-employees of Ecobank Plc, Aghanenu Ikechukwu and Stephen Nduka, of forging and stealing N14.4 million from a customer.
Ikechukwu, 41, and Nduka, 36, were arraigned yesterday before Mr P. A. Adekomaya of the Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
They are standing trial on a four-count charge of conspiracy, forgery, stealing and conversion.
Prosecuting Inspector Ingobo Emby said the defendants and others at large committed the offence between last September and November at Ecobank Plc.
He said the defendants with intent to defraud, forged the instruction of the customer, Oluremi Egunjobi Christina.
Emby alleged that Ikechukwu and his accomplices, who are at large, last September 24, “fraudulently converted the sum of N10million from Ecobank account number 274112825, belonging to a customer, Rabiu Oladimeji Lawal, to another Ecobank account number 5322000255, belonging to one Okeneme Samuel”.
It was alleged that the first defendant and others at large last September 28 “fraudulently forged and liquidated the customer’s investment into account number 5323007058 to the tune of N4.14 million property of the bank.”
The defendants denied the charge.
Magistrate Adekomaya granted them N3 million bail with two sureties each in the like sum.
He adjourned the case till July 11.

Niger Delta Indigenous Movement For Radical Change (NDIMRC) on Friday disapproves the removal of Dr. Ibe Kachikwu as the Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).According to a statement signed by Nelly Emma; President of the group, Secretary, John Sailor, and Public Relations Officer (PRO), Stanley Mukoro, disappointment was expressed at the sudden decision of the President to remove Kachikwu who had been labouring to calm down the militants for oil exportation to improve. Alligator Snatches 2-Yr-Old Boy

Police are searching for a toddler who was dragged into the water by an alligator near Disney World's flagship Grand Floridian resort in Orlando after a movie night and fireworks on the beach. The hotel is a high end luxury resort owned by Disney. The Alligator clenched its jaws around the two-year-old and pulled the child into a nearby lagoon. Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Rose Silva said the toddler was last seen at 9.30pm being dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon by the alligator. Police are searching the waters and have put crime-scene tape around the water. It is one of three hotels linked by the park’s monorail line and just one stop away from the Magic Kingdom Park. The child's name was not available. It was not known if the child or his family were guests at the hotel.
